An off-shoot of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School, a two decade institution of name and fame, at Kallar, Mettupalayam, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu, the Academy named Satchidananda Academy for human Excellence aims to enrich the professional live of teachers serving in various capacities in schools and teacher-trainees studying in various teacher training institution (B.Ed., colleges) across the country, to face the world without losing their enthusiasm and self-belief throughout their career. We believe strongly that the quality of students depends on the quality of teachers. Teachers should not only excel in teaching the subject, but also stand as an example for the students in exhibiting, demonstrating our culture, values and etiquettes then only the education becomes complete. Our purpose of establishing Satchidananda Academy for Human Excellence is to fill this gap. We would like to share our experience gained over twenty years to achieve the Human Excellence in the field of Education. We have embarked upon the journey of creating teachers of high calibre and standard.

THE SOURCE

A well knit and well oiled team runs the Academy which is named after one of the great spiritual saints of this region – Swami Satchidananda – known for imparting Hatha Yoga across the world. Sri. K.Ramasamy, the Chairman of Roots Group of Companies, Coimbatore and also the Managing Trustee of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School, Kallar, Mettupalayam is the Patron of the Academy Dr. Kavidasan, – a great orator and a author of over fifty books-the Director of Human Resource at the Roots Group of Companies, Coimbatore and also the Secretary of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School, Kallar as Mentor and guide will be the Chief panel of resource person. Dr.V.Ganesan, The Course Director of the Academy and the Academic Advisor, Mrs. R.Uma Maheswari Principal and Dr. S.Sakthivelu, Vice Principal of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School, Kallar, oversee the facilities and provide the required support for the Academy.

HIGHLIGHTS

So for, the Academy has trained 1000 educators, and our endeavour is to produce teachers with a high level of human excellence.

THE COURSE DIRECTOR

Dr.V.Ganesan, is the Course Director of the Academy. A triple post-graduate in the field of zoology, History and in Education, from the prestigious Madras and Annamalai University, he also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Ecology and Environment, Delhi. Dr.V.Ganesan, is also Ph.D in the field of education from Bharathiyar University. With over 40 Years of serving in boarding schools in various capacities as a Tacher – educator, House-Master, Principal, Senior Principal and now as an AcaDEMIC Advisor of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School – A CBSE Affiliated Senior Secondary School experience in guiding the students and teaching community in making the Academy a Centre for human Excellence. Recipient of various coveted awards for his unflinching services in the cause of school education such as ‘The Best Teacher Award’ from the Government of Tamil Nadu, ‘The BOLT Award’ Air India, Bombay. ‘The Best Principal Award’ from Bannari Amman Group, Sathyamangalam, Erode, ‘Guru Dakshina Award’ from KSR Group of Institution, Coimbatore. ‘The Vocational Excellence Award’ from the Rotary Club of Mettupalayam, The Life Time Achievement Award’ from Nehru Group of Institution, Coimbatore, he epitomizes quality in all fields.

Author of Book such as ‘From a Good Teacher to a Great Teacher’ writer exclusively for the teaching community; ‘From a Good Parent to a Responsible Parent’ for parent community; and ‘From an Ordinary to an Extraordinary School’ for School Heads and Administrators, Dr.V.Ganesan has a passion on interacting with young minds with the found hope they would build the nation with equal responsibility as they grow up.

As a recourse person, he has enrich the teaching community in various school across south of India inspiring them on topic such as Classroom our training ground, ABCD of teaching, The Art of time Management, from a Good Teacher to a Great Teacher, The classroom Management, Teachers-the backbone of the society, Stress the bubble of life, Students our future, Our role as Teacher Educators; Dealing with adolescents etc., he is also resource person for science associated with Oxford University Press, Chennai.

A keen observer of nature, a sports lover, musician, writer, play write, actor, orator, and a humourist Dr.V.Ganesan believes strongly, once the teachers unearth their Human Excellence in them, the society will be benefitted immensely in producing students who are endowed with qualities of Human Excellence. In creating such a society his clarion call to all teachers is a timely on.

True to the lines, ‘A journey of thousand miles must start with a single step’ a step taken at the right direction at the right time, to usher the teaching community in to the ambit of human excellence, will certainly bring good results on a longer run, is his belief.
