CHILDREN’S ROAD SAFETY TRAFFIC PARK
Considering the increasing number of deaths on road accidents in India, a Children’s Road Safety Traffic Park a joint venture of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited, Bangalore and Roots Group of Companies, Coimbatore has come up in our school campus. The primary aim of the park is to bring an awareness to the children on Road Safety and the rules and regulations that the children must follow while using vehicles on the road.
Thiru S.P.Velumani, Honourable Minister for Municipal Administration Rural Development and Implementation of Special Programme, Government of Tamilnadu, Sri. Masakazu Yoshimura, Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited, Sri K.Ramasamy, Chairman, Roots Group of Companies jointly cut the ribbon and inaugurated the Park on November 6, 2019.
Students of the school have learnt about a few safety instructions and the importance of traffic signals and the pelican crossing. Children using the cycles with their helmets on, also went about obeying the traffic rules meticulously and thus they became the safety ambassadors.
In an official function held at the School Auditorium Sri K.Ramasamy Chairman, Roots Group of Companies thanked the Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited for choosing our school to establish the park. Sri.Masakazu Yoshimura, Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited gave the Key note address underlining the importance of establishing a Park and how it would benefit the future road users.
A Video on Children’s Road Safety Park, where in children speak about importance of the park and the need to obey traffic rules was released. It has also highlighted the facilities available in the park. A Mime show by students on Road Safety was enacted by the Students of Satchidananda Jothi Nikethan International School during the function.
Children studying in various schools of the state will be invited on phased manner to undergo the much needed Traffic Awareness, as they are going to be the road users in future.
Establishment of such a safety Traffic Park has opened a window of opportunity to the young people 'to be safe' at all times, in safeguarding their own lives and of others, while using roads.
We are pleased to share that Sri Ambal Public CBSE School, Sirumugai has already deputed closer to 100 students in the very first month of inauguration of the park we are confident the number will increase benefitting a large section of students from various schools in the years to come.
